There are four Sections of activities for all Award levels, plus a Residential Project for the Gold Award only.

The Award encourages young people to spend time volunteering in their community, which both benefits others and contributes to their own growth and well-being.

Founded in 1956 by His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, today more than 1.3 million young people are actively participating in the Award.
